Happy Tuesday!

Okay, today is just going to be a whole lot of randomness which is not much different from my normal posts :-)

Happy St Patty's Day! See picture of Isabelle sporting her green outfit to school today. She gets to school and says to Ms. Odessa - look at my green dress and does a little spin. Then she says my mommy has on green too. How sweet. It is amazing how the teachers always notice when she is wearing a new outfit or has new shoes. It doesn't help that she always does a little prance and spin when she enters class.

Isabelle has two new favorite words. Drum roll please....
#1 - Fabulous
#2 - Incredible

I have noticed that Isabelle has a little obsession with door shutting. She is always going through the house and shutting doors if they are even the slightest bit cracked. Whenever the washer is on the spin cycle and the laundry room door is open, she will go in there and pull the door shut and say "that's way too loud"

Auburn is not a shopping-mecca. I had free range of the mall on Saturday afternoon without the hubby and daughter and could not find one single thing. I was in search of some cute clothes to wear on our Vegas trip. I have found that it doesn't help when you looking for a specific thing (see below) The selections are absolutely limited. There is no such thing as designer jeans. On Friday, I even went to TJ Max and Kohl's and found zippo. So, on a wonderful rainy Sunday morning, I thought let me see what I have in my closet. Okay - I was amazed with all of the things that I found - it was so much fun trying on clothes and thinking this will work. Tommy was very impressed, I didn't have to spend a dime on new clothes for the Vegas trip. Okay, I lied above, I did buy one pair of jeans but that is pretty good for me :-)

On Sunday, I set out to find a hanging cosmetic bag (looking for a specific thing see). My shopping destination "Tiger Towns" 1st stop Target - they had 2 to choose from and I wasn't loving them at all. 2nd stop - Sally's Beauty Supply. I asked the lady do you have a hanging cosmetic bag and she was like hanging cosmetic bag? what is that? I knew I was out of luck. 3rd stop Bed Bath & Beyond. They had a hanging travel cord bag - not what I needed. 4th stop Kohl's - nothing - but, I did find a belt and some flip flops. 5th stop - TJ Max - nothing. So, Monday during lunch I ventured out to Wally World and guess what - they had TONS. I found one that I absolutely loved and it was the last one of that kind. I am so proud of my purchase.

Hope everyone has a wonderful week!

Girls Weekend!

When: February 28th
Where: Birmingham, Alabama
What: Shopping, shopping, more shopping, drinks, food, music

Yes, I had a much deserved (at least I think it was deserved) girls weekend a few weeks ago. It was so much fun to get away with my pals Leslie, Emily, and Lori for some shopping and fun. The trip was almost jeopardized as Isabelle came down with a stomach bug (I had no idea that it would go on to last 6 days) AND then on departure day we had tornado watches in our area. About 5 miles from our home a business was completely demolished. So, the trip got off to a rocky start but I was so thankful that I was able to make it. Picture to the right was our backyard flooding that morning.

I arrived in Birmingham and met the girls at The Tavern at the Summit for lunch. I went to the wrong Tavern at first but I found them. Then we spent 6 hours shopping! 6 hours! I have not been able to shop for 6 hours since I don't know when. My shopping trips have been limited to 30 minutes max since I have had Isabelle. It was so nice to be able to actually browse and take my time shopping without worrying about taking too long. It was so nice that we decided that we should do this every 6 months. Random thought alert - I am actually going to attempt to go shopping this weekend by myself for a few hours - wish me luck. So, we shopped from 12-6 (by 6 pm - I was waddling because my feet were so sore from the high heels I had on) and then we relaxed in the Wynfrey bar for a few drinks before we got ready for dinner. We had dinner at the Superior Grill where a great band was playing. Then we ventured out to a bar near our hotel where we listened to a southern country rock band. Yes, I am not a country music fan but hey it was entertainment. Oh - I almost forgot an important detail - on Sunday we were caught in a snow storm. Thankfully, we all made it home safe, it just took a little longer to get there. Well, I won't bore you with all of the details, here are some pictures from our fun weekend.

Leslie and Lori enjoying some yummy drinks at Superior Grill

Emily striking a pose

Leslie and I at the Redline Bar & Grill. The band gave everyone beads :-)

Here is a little video of the band that we watched at RedLine. Yes, they were southern country and yes we were yea hawing. Disclaimer - No, Leslie was not drinking two drinks- she was actually holding my beverage as I took the video. Leslie and the nice bouncer at RedLine. He made sure that we had a taxi cab on our way home and that we enjoyed ourselves. Who wouldn't just love that band :-)

A special thanks to Chad for hooking us up at the Wynfrey - we thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

Oh where oh where have I been....

I have been on a little vacation since my last blog update. I only wish. In my last blog update I said little Ms. Isabelle threw up 3 times in one evening. I was hoping it was a chocolate withdrawal symptom but unfortunately it wasn't :-) Her throwing up went on for 3 straight days and then it turned into diarrhea for another 3 days. Then on Tuesday night I was awaken by Tommy hurling in the bathroom. He went on to have what he describes as the worst stomach virus he has ever had (yes, Leslie, he said it was WAY worse than the one we had at your house). 8 days later and loads and loads of laundry later our house has survived. Oh - the laundry was all Isabelle's - promise Tommy didn't have any accidents. There is a happy ending in all of this - guess what? I did not get it! I can't believe it - knock on wood. Tommy said it is because I was not here on Saturday when he got hurled on multiple times. I was off on my girls' weekend which I will now go blog about.

Happy Monday!
